Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, Pennyroyal Farm

2021 Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley

Regular price $47.00

The 2021 harvest began with a worried winemaker and a fretful farmer due to an extreme water shortage – water is critical for the livelihoods of vines and livestock, as well as a go-to protection against frost and wildfires. Decisions were made to implement deficit irrigation in the vineyard and to use water conservatively in the Creamery and Tasting Room to make it through the drought. As the wine will attest, and to everyone's relief, our water conservation worked! Even with small crop yields, the fruit still maintained its signature “Anderson Valley” quality. This Pinot Noir is a deep ruby in the glass with an autumn bouquet aroma and flavors of black currant and tart cherry. Its youthful balance of acidity and delicate tannin does not disappoint for drinking now, though we anticipate this vintage to be a keeper for the cellar. Enhance the bottle opening with a pairing of our camembert-style cheese, Velvet Sister, for a true taste of triumph.
