2023 Pinot Noir Rosé, Anderson Valley
Despite its easy-drinking nature, making a good rosé is not an easy task and is an annual challenge for winemaker Sarah. The process starts at the Monty In vineyard where Sarah has to identify the almost-ripe grapes from a few select rows. Once the grapes are in the winery, she then strikes a balance between color and mouthfeel by determining the amount of time on the skins before pressing. For this particular vintage, the skins were left for one and a half hours. The wine has a floral scent of freesia and crisp flavors of grapefruit and strawberry that accentuate its signature Pinot Noir fullness and mid-palate acidity.
