2021 Pinot Noir, Jeansheep Vineyard, Anderson Valley
On warm days, the Jeansheep Vineyard is aromatized by a mixture of Valley Oaks and Bay Laurel trees along Bollie’s Creek. Located on the northwest side of our estate vineyard, it is often the coolest of our Pinot Noir blocks because of the coastal winds that blow through in the afternoon and its relatively richer soils produce a slightly thicker canopy, thus providing more shade to the fruit. This balanced vintage has a rich strawberry and rhubarb flavor spiced with bourbon and cumin, and it gives off a summer forest nose. With its velvety tannins, we love swirling this wine in the glass before enjoying it to the fullest.
