2023 Sauvignon Blanc, Anderson Valley
The grape harvest in 2023 was delayed by three weeks due to abundant winter and early spring rains and below-average temperatures during the summer months of June and September. The clusters with above-average flowers turned into berries but luckily had a canopy to match. As a result, we had to wait until late September to pick the first Sauvignon Blanc fruit. After picking, pressing, and cold fermentation, our oak maturation program adds complexity to the aromas and flavors. It preserves the bright fruit and natural acidity that make this Sauvignon Blanc so refreshing and enjoyable. The resulting wine has a sweet nose of orange blossom, a generous mouthfeel with notes of vine-ripened honeydew and thyme, and ends with a crisp, clean finish.
