Long ago, Monty, a pitcher for the Boonville Loggers made a name for himself by consistently hitting the strike zone in the field that is now our backyard. Out of the 15 acres of Pinot Noir in our vineyard, we feel that these nine barrels spotlight why an all Clone 667 wine can be a home run. Its concentrated elderberry flavor with hints of cacao nibs and fennel seed, combined with a big structure all live up to its namesake.
FROM THE VINEYARD
We’d never thought we’d say that the “teen years” were better, but for rouge production so far, they were. 2018 was a vintage also marked by devastating wildfires, though we had picked the fruit barely a week before smoke and ash entered the valley. We can’t help but find that this wine is layered with nostalgia. From fruit ripened by a full summer of sunny skies and harvested with ease and pace of when the world was -- dare we say -- “normal.”
